This work should not take longer than a month or maybe shorter if he is getting help from other people. After coming up with a clear idea for the game he wants to develop he should then make an initial plan for the development using agile method because it helps in rapped development and enhancement throughout the development period. According to the nick example, I would say that nick needs to do some research on online gaming, and it’s trends, also nick need to check if there is any competitor to find there weak point’s in order to improve them in his game, he also need to do market research, segmentation before starting implementation. Furthermore, he needs to look at all the trending games and find their best features and try to ask his friends and colleagues about their favorite games and why they like them. After that he should find a short class or tutorial about online gaming and putting what he learned into practice by making a prototype also using the available mockups and prototype tools online.
